I can't drown my demons, they know how to swimCategory: Stories

I ran through the forest, branches hitting against my face leaving cuts and bruises.
My heart started pacing faster as I noticed it was gaining speed. I spotted a small
cabin then ran toward it. When inside I quickly looked for anything to defind myself.
I ran into the kitchen then noticed a long, sharp knife with a poorly made leather
patch wrapped around the handle. The door swung open and I turned on my heels to face
my attacker. It was a dark figure with a long, black hoodie on. It stared at me with
anxiousness to stab the clever he held in his right hand through my heart. It wanted
to soak in my blood, hear my cries of pain as it repeatedly stabbed me. "Your time
has come." It spoke with a croaky, gruff voice. I felt tears burn my cheeks and I
quickly wipped them away. I won't let that happen, he will not kill me! I lifted my
hand and ran toward the dark figure. I stabbed it straight through its heart and kept
pushing and pushing, harder and harder. It cried out in pain as blood squirted all
over my face.
Suddenly the walls started to dissolve, whiteness flashed against my
face. I fell onto its body as I buried my face into its hoodie to block out the
buzzing and pain. I shut my eyes as I laid against its cold body, trembling in fears.
The buzzing stopped so I hesitatingly opened my eyes to see that I wasn't in a cabin
nor the forest. All of a sudden I heard a scream and my head jolted up. I saw a
younger woman, maybe the age of fourteen, with tears in her eyes. She was staring
directly at me so I got to my knees and tried to ask her 'what's wrong?' but then I
heard sirens in the distance. I looked down and the thing that laid under me wasn't
what I saw in the woods.
