She knows what its like to try to hide a bruise.
So many excuses she has to use.
She knows how it feels to lie to friends to avert thoughts from all the harms.
How to cover up injury by wearing shirts with long-sleeved arms.
She can keep a secret so well noone would ever think.
Her eyes are filled with tears so she can hardly blink.
Nobody ever suspects a thing.
All the sorrow-drenched sadness the truth will bring.
She can smile and make believe its all okay,
so people will quit asking questions and she can get through the day.
