This poem is by my sister:

Lead me down
This road of red
Adorned in fallen flowers.
[An item of spectation
A sainted abomination]
In a world of white
That blinds my sight
As memories grow sour.

Simple sounds
Songs of love and laughter.
[A gesture of contempt
A crime now exempt]
Dreams expelled =
A life unquelled
No happily ever after.

Exchange of hands
Exchange of vows
For better or for worse.
[A critical observation
A force-fed conversation]
As a veil is raised
I pray for the days
Of this arrangement to reverse
