Also by my sister:
Blood is your cologne
Swimming slowly across the floor
Staining the wood a darker shade
The metallic odor
Sending a cold chill rushing up my spine
To rest in my dry mouth
No more do screams fill the heavy air
Time stops.
The clock still ticks
But you remain frozen
Your once implacable choler dissipated
I look at you, so you look at me
And for a moment I think "I'm next in line to--"
But you make no movement, just match my stare
And, in fact, look as scared as I
And I wonder what thoughts are shrieking
Behind those insensate eyes
Sometimes we have to lie before we can face the truth
Is the harsh gavel of reality yet
Caressing your mind
Showing you slides of what you've done?
How will your next step be taken?
You will laugh in triumph
You will hide in shame
Flirt with Lucifer
Drown in the Styx
Or beg for God to wash your hands
Of the veins you so joyfully deprived
A flicker in your expression
Catches The Heartless One's attention
Bringing the baggage car on the train of thoughts
To a slow halt
Your eyes whisper tales of rage
Silently shouting - ¡Déjame en paz!
Almost as if
You had been listening in on my scornful musings
I force myself to look back at the carnage
And you reluctantly follow my gaze
Finally, I turn, deciding to break the silence,
But immediately I stop
For your mouth had opened first
And so we plunge back into muteness
Both afraid to speak
Until at last I find
I only want to leave
I step towards the door
As you step towards me
Then both of us leap back
And look around uncertainly
I don't want to risk your wrath
But I can't stay near this scene
I try to navigate around you
But you move to block my path
Every motion you anticipate
Every feign you call
Until almost I resign
Before you have time to blink
My fist is in your face
And your world shatters...
Blood is my cologne
Swimming across the floor
Staining my skin a darker shade
