I've been unable to write any story fragments in awhile, so here we go.

"Jake it's no use hiding!" A man bellowed up the stairs, "It's in your blood that you
have magic, so it won't stay away forever. Going to this, er, shool wil help you
control these powers."
A young boy sat huddled in the darkest corner he could find. He had deep brown hair,
odd as his eyes were a vivid red with streaks of orange. His dirt covered face was
normally handsome, with fair skin and just the right amount of freckles.
"It's not a school!" The boy, Jake, yelled at his father, "It's a horrible hole dug
in the ground and lined with lead I'm sure! They're just gonna toss me in a hole and
wait for me to die"
'They' were a man and a woman, come to take the magically talented Jake to a school
called Rattbane's school for the abnormally gifted. The woman was E and the man was
Karu. They looked nice enough, but something about the words 'abnormally gifted'
didn't seem quite right. Jake had immediately run and had been hiding for two days.
"I guarentee you that Rattbane's is not like that," E said in her horribly gorgeous
voice, "I, beleive it or not, am a demon. I was educated a Rattbane's and so was my
partner Karu. It is an amazing school."
Jake unwillingly crept from his shadow into the living room. He kept his eyes at his
feet, but he could feel every eye on him. Karu barked something in an odd language
and Jake was clean and in fresh clothes, every part of which bore the Rattbane's
symbol, a rat with a long mane on it's back.
"We shal leave then." E said, grabing Jake's arm while holding onto Karu. Karu once
again barked in the odd language and the were immediately transported right outside
of a lush garden.
