Day 5 – Favorite Character From the Gotei 13
Ho-hum, there are quite a few possibilities, but I guess it's limited to the present
Gotei 13? Well, then, I know who I'll be choosing~
My favourite female character, and also my favourite lieutenant, is definitely
Rangiku Matsumoto, the lieutenant of Squad 10. She's beautiful, has a decent
zanpaku-to, can actually hold her own in a fight, doesn't cry ALL THE BLOODY TIME,
and she has one of the most amazing, and deepest backstories of all the characters in
the whole of Bleach. She's also very funny and her dynamic with Toshiro Hitsugaya is
incredibly good, as well as the fact that she's part of THE BEST Bleach pairing in my
eyes - GinRan!! There's probably a page for my favourite pairing coming up, so I'll
keep it simple. Gin saved Ran when they were little (from SPOILER Aizen SPOILER), and
since then, he sqore he would never let her cry again. To Ran, it looked like he was
always running away and leaving her behind, but in reality, he was getting close to
Aizen so that he could try to kill him in revenge for hurting Ran. Sad to say, Gin
got killed, and Ran's tears are so desperate in that final scene on the rocks, that,
let's face it, it's the most canon of all the pairings in Bleach. HURHUR.
Rangiku also gets a lot of screen time in comparison to all other lieutenants (except
Renji), and even most Captains... which is pretty good seeing as I actually like her.
I think she should get more decent fights though, because, yeah, we've seen what
Haineko can do, but not the extent of Ran's battle prowess. I'd also like to see
Ran's bankai, but Kubo-sensei's already admitted that both Ran and Haineko are too
lazy to achieve it. Oh well.
Day 6 – Favorite Zanpakutō/Shikai
This one's interesting, that's for sure! But a zanpaku-to and it's shikai are
different things! Do you mean my favourite spirit? Or my favourite shikai release? DX
Make up your mind, dammit!
Well, I guess I'll just create a combo of this then, and this is what I choose:
Sode no Shirayuki (literally Sleeves of White Snow), is Rukia Kuchiki's zanpaku-to,
and one of my favourite - in fact, ever since we learned of Rukia's zanpaku-to at the
beginning of the Arrancar arc, she's actually become a redeemed character, and I like
Sode no Shirayuki is certainly the most beautiful zanpaku-to in Bleach, both because
of the humanized form, and because of the whole ice'n'snow thing the sword itself has
going on. The sword is entirely white and has a long ribbon connected at the hilt,
which makes it look incredibly graceful when Rukia wields it. I also love the shikai
- there are three stages of it, in fact: First Dance, Second Dance and Last Dance,
all of which we see at various points in the manga - the last of which saves Rukia's
skin, when she uses it to kill the Kaien-imposter, Aaroniero.
I'd very much like to see Rukia achieve bankai level, but that might be a while off,
as she's only the level of a seated officer (but then again, we've seen what Ikkaku
