Dear Diary,

The sun bears down on me like a billion hammers. When will the farmwork end? I tilt
my hat sideways every now and then to catch a glimpse of that sun, but I'm stupid for
I could get blind for my silly suggestions. I sigh and walk into the house. Uncle Jim
has read the newspaper this morning and points out an article for me. It says "Jolly
Dance for them Lovebirds". I roll my eyes at Uncle Jim. He wants me to go to those
things to find a nice beau. "No, Uncle Jim. I told you... After Jason.... Maybe I'll
think though..." I doubt I would think. But for Uncle Jim I would think this decision
Turkey sat on my bed, licking his wounds. I patted his
head softly and went to prepare dinner. Since Ma was at Church praying for another
child. I rolled my eyes at the thought. She wanted another baby? I looked at Timmy,
Lou, Nancy, and Jess. Four kids seemed too much for me and yet my mama wanted another
child. Too addicted my mama was. I sat the lard bucket upright and stood on it to get
my materials for Mama's fancy chicken soup.

With care,
