Hurricane Ike Log: Day 1Category: Hurricane

My first alarm went off at 5:30am, just as I had set it. I lazily reached for my
cell, clicking the right button. About five or so minutes later, I realized I had
pressed the 'Snooze' button. I attacked the 'Off' button, hoping I had done some
damage to make it skip the second alarm at 5:45. Sure enough, at the dot, the melody
'Are You Sleeping?' rang from my phone, waking from my 10 minute nap. I'm really
starting to hate that song.
I heard my sister in the other room, watching the news for school. I had gone in
there and she informed me we had school. I groaned, heading towards the kitchen for
my traditional cereal breakfast. After finishing up there, I searched the house for
school clothes. SCHOOL clothes.
After finally getting to school, we were just about to get out when a staff of the
school's faculty stopped us, announcing school was closed, the sweet words I had been
looking for all morning. When we got back home, I grabbed some pajamas, stuck 'em on,
and roamed around the house eating a pop-tart like it was Saturday.

All in all, today wasn't all that great.
Besides the "NO SCHOOL, SUCKAHS" part. :P
But all our family members are really worried about us.
We decided not to evacuate and so they're practically begging for us to get at least
to Katy.
We've already been through that Evacuating Rush no more than three years ago with
Hurricane Rita, thank you.
No more 130miles per day, for us, thanks.

We did.
A major surge threatened our place and we're by the bayou...
That was already over the gate that blocked it off...

So, here, the place we evacuated to, had no cable 'til now.

We had to.
Bayou's a butthead D:<
