Relka swiftly turned around and galloped out of the alley into the foggy night. His
charcoal black hair sweeped up against his ears as he rushed through the wind. His
light footfalls made no noise in the silent night air, and even when he jumped up and
over the fence of the courtyard, his landing was without noise.
None had seen him rush into the castle and out again, save for...her...
She paced across the cold bricks of her stone floor in the top of the tower, thinking
on what he had said. The other inhabitant? Who could that possibly be? Poisidon?
Wasn't Poisidon a demon who recklessly rampaged villages? She tried her best to
remember his words.
The other inhabitant had access to Poisidon, who powered back down into Relka? Yes,
those were the whispered words that he so gently spoke into her ear as they embraced
in the middle of the room. But who was the other inhabitant? Did he mean in his body?
Could it be that he had dissociative identity disorder? Maybe that was it. Maybe she
had solved the riddle. Only time could tell...
Relka stopped in his tracks. He felt it. He could always feel it. It was him...the
other inhabitant. And he brought company.
Relka fell to his knees. "Please, no. No, no, no, no,..." But he was powerless to
stop it. His eyes rolled back and when they rolled forward again they had changed
from green to red. He stood and was a full foot taller then before. His charcoal
black hair was now jet black, and he was stronger. Much stronger...yet much weaker.
He ran three miles before giving in to the temptation. It was occuring again, he was
shifting. His mind blurred and everything turned vague, but he kept running...
