Don't act like you give a damn about anyone but yourself, we all know it's not true.
You're growing up in a time where we are all so impossibly self-centred that we don't
miss a chance to look down upon others. Maybe it's because you were able to move out
of your hometown and better hide your past. No one knows about the scars from the
belt your father used on you when he thought you were being rebellious or your grades
were less then satisfactory. Or that you're a shame to your culture and heritage by
pretending it doesn't even exist. Scorning your parents for 'not living in the 21st
century' and insisting on trying to teach you to be humble; courteous. We all waste
away online, on social media that's all falsified, trying to make ourselves sound
better. It's all fake and superficial and no one cares if you have a new boyfriend.
Your new boyfriend doesn't even care about you. Sitting next to you while texting
some girl from another town whom he sleeps with when he says he has to work late. And
what about your friends? How you talk about how much fun you have with them and take
the pictures to prove it. Their smiles fake and plastered while you gush about being
together forever while they mock you behind your back. You're not like them at all,
they all came from a respectable social status while you had to work to be at their
level but you're not truly there, are you? It only takes one stone out of place and
it all comes crashinng down.
It's better to be honest. The ones who are given a bit of respect are the ones who
keep their mouth shut when they are told and don't fight to compete.
Or are they?
As you laugh and call them fake and stuck-up, they feel the same thing you do and in
the end, we all die the same way, our bodies failing us and turning in on themselves.
The flies lay their eggs on us and from there, we are all decomposed the same way.
The beetles will eat our flesh and the maggots grow in our blood, using us as a
source of nutrition.
