Okay so first of all this idiot guest speaker came to my sunday school class and
gave a sermon about his theory that king David was emo.
Seriously! What the ***k.
And then. My dad was talking on the way home in the car about how he thinks black
guys only want girls for sex which is sterotypical BS.
And then when I got home I told him my friend Missy got a tatoo recently. And so he
pulls out his bible and show me some verse about how tatoos are bad. It said
something like, "Do not cut into your flesh for the dead, and do not tatoo yourself.
I am the Lord." And dad says "These days kids are into that thing where they cut
themselves like this *makes wrist slashing motion* and the bible is against it."
Okay. First of all that is NOT WHAT THE BIBLE IS TALKING ABOUT. Second, self harm is
a freaking DISEASE. It's not 'in style' or something. And then he goes on to say that
tatoos are bad. But that's not true; the bible says that in the Old Testament and
there's plenty of stuff in there we disreguard these days, like eating pigs for
example, and the only reasons God said we couldn't tatoo ourselves is because at the
time that was written, you would get an infection and die from those freaking dirty
needles. Same reason some animals were unclean; they were literally unclean.
Eating them would make you sick.
I refuse to believe that God even cares about tatoos... also back then, people would
get 'ritual tatoos' but that was a part of idol worship, nothing to do with the
actual act of putting ink in your skin. It's self expression, art on your body...
And if it makes you happy and hurts no one. What the heck is the big deal? UGH
