The original quote (not the stupid one):
"My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It
points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers,
recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them." -
And here's the reply that got me to say something.
He (Hitler) could've called himself Christian all he wanted to but, that didn't
ever truly make him one. you can't believe in God and still have hate within you for
the people who are your brothers and sisters in Christ, as we all are of the same
lineage, reaching back to Adam and Eve. he preached hate, violence, abuse,
discrimination, extermination when Jesus preached love, even for our enemies. why did
you post this [friendofmine]? that's bs that he got any inspiration from the Bible. i
have yet to read Mein Kampf but, it's on my list.
I'm not going to knock on religions and call them a piece of BS that's only necessary
for idealism and labeling, I won't do it. People legitimately believe this, and it's
as true as you want it to be. In fact, your religion may be the right one if you've
got the reasoning behind it.
But that's just it. You interpret whatever holy text you want in whatever way you
want, or whatever way you accept your preacher to tell you it was meant to be
interpreted. And how many people did God kill in the Bible, as opposed to Satan? A
thousand times as many, at least.
If Hitler wanted a citation for mass genocide, hey! Hey could have skipped the gas
chambers and made it rain so hard that everyone he hadn't saved previously drowned.
Or turned them all into pillars of salt!
I despise it when someone assumes a certain religion will make someone a good person.
In your eyes, Hitler was lying when he called himself a Roman Catholic. In his eyes,
you're a liar for allowing heathens to roam the Earth when they shouldn't have been a
part of the superior race. You're a heathen yourself for not purging those heathens,
and instead letting them go about their days. Where you see 'peaceful attitude and
equal love for everyone,' he saw 'turning a blind eye to a sin.'
Do as the bible says. Look at the log of wood in yourself before judging the sawdust
on someone else. If you're human, you've done something wrong. I understand that
killing goodness-knows-how-many people might be a bit further towards 'bad' on the
ethics scale. And if you've gone for a confession every time you so much as cursed,
or every time you thought "Damnit, I want that toy too! Timmy's so lucky, he has so
much!", I praise you.
Don't let a religion do the work of getting to know a person for you. You quite
seriously never know if what someone says about himself is what you're going to see.
I do NOT condone Hitler's behavior. I'm not disagreeing with the fact that this girl
thought it was wrong of him. I'm disagreeing with the fact that she thinks everyone's
clear on what a Christian is.
