"Good morning Amber," said Mrs. Groove.
"Good morning mom," Amber said sleepily.
"It's good to see your finall up. What do you want for brunch?" asked Mr. Groove.
"A pop-tart and a hotdog with kool-aid."
"OK. I'll make it, you go and start typing that short story for Language Arts.
Remeber, it's due tomorrow."
"Yes mama."Amber went to her omputer, turned it on, got the short story, went to
word, and started to type.
"Amber, come eat."
"When I finish this paragraph."
Now Amber is an excellent writer and oe day wants to be a well known author.
"OK, I'm here." Amber ate her brunch and then went back upstairs to finish typing her
When she finished, the door bell rang.
"Amber, John is at the door."
"Tell him I'm upstairs." John ran upstairs into Amber's room.
"Hey Amber," John said.
"Hey John. Could you go wait in the guest bedroom till I get dressed?"
"OK, you can come in."
"Are you ready for the school dance Friday?"
"For sure!" They talked and talked until it was time for John to go home.
The next day in school, John had asked some girl to the dance. On Thursday, Amber
found out who it was. Clover. Amber didn't know that they liked each other, but
everyone knew that she liked John.
"You asked Clover! When?!" said Amber with anger and sadness in her voice.
"I asked her out Monday."
"John! You were the first boy I've ever had a crush on!" she said now crying.
When school was over, she ran home as fast as she could. She then ran right up to her
room, slammed the door, locked it, flopped down on the bed, and cried.
Amber never trusted boys again. She never crushed on, hugged, or kissed a boy. Amber
was a loveless moon.
