Not the kind you get from spending time with a friend nor the one you get from
playing with a puppy, the long-term one. The general state of being happy. We
put up with a lot of things for happiness. We want money, relationships, and status,
all for happiness. It seems to be the only thing we truly desire. Everything we do
links to it. But is happiness an action, something that can be achieved, or it is a
choice, a state of mind? Is happiness even real?
Lately I've made it a point to enjoy more of the simple pleasures of life. I stepped
on a crunchy looking leaf, ran through a sprinkler, and enjoyed every sip of my hot
cocoa. With every simple pleasure came a little sprinkle of joy.
Note to self: make sure sprinklers are not on private property.
