Updates
Kirti does this, and I always enjoy reading them, so... how about I do them?
Yeah? I think so.
Sorry for stealing your wonderful idea, by the way.
First of all, I finally, finally, FINALLY got a really good idea for a book that I
think I may actually... OMG... write! Wowwwww...
Since I've been home from Calgary, I've been thinking that I need to get an actual
job, like an all-year job that last for more than eleven days. The problem is that
I'm that over-acheiving needs-a-life type that spends approximately four to five
hours a night on homework because I couldn't not do my best even if I tried, so my
weeknights are occupied. My Saturdays are occupied because I have dance class an
hour away from my house from 11:30 to 2:00, plus we usually visit family, so I'm gone
from 10:00 until about 4:30. Basically, I don't have the time to work, so my mom
said that maybe I could tutor kids at my grade school.
I like that idea because I could charge $13.00 an hour and I would be the cheapest
one you're gonna find. Plus, I love kids. So I'm thinking that works.
My dad has been unemplyed for nineteen months, and within the last month he's
gotten a really good job that he likes, AND an offer from Boeing. Like, the plane
company Boeing. (Cue 'oooooooooooohhhh... aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh...') This, after
nearly two years of absolutely nothing, save like two interviews. The planets have
taking a liking to us of late.
This means that I get a new dance dress for the Regionals in November, and
possibly even a brand new one! SCORE!!!!! I've never had a brand new one before.
My cousin Cora in Ireland knows a dressmaker who sells brand new dresses for 600 Euro
(about $1100-$1300 American; just a guestimate) which is GREAT, because new ones
usually cost anywhere from $1500-$2600 American. To put that in perspective, I'm the
sixth owner of my current dress, and it was about $650 American.
I also need new soft shoes, which are a $75 Canadian dent to my Calgary money.
Heavy shoes will come soon enough, and I'm praying to God they're a Christmas or
birthday present, because they're almost twice as much. JOY.
School starts in thirteen days, and I'm actually kind of looking forward to it.
My very first class is enriched math, which is great, because the enriched stream is
like a 16-person family, who I can't wait to see. They're only offering math and
science again, but that's okay because I have other stuff to look forward to. I have
the funniest, craziest, most epic teacher ever for history, and I'm pretty sure
having the band teacher for religion is going to make it slightly more enjoyable than
it was this year. Grr. Plus, I love the whole feeling of fall; the leaves changing,
the way the air smells, Halloween coming, everybody wearing denim and rich coloured
sweaters... I guess back-to-school is just a part of the show.
That's pretty much it, I guess.
By the way, this was unbelievably fun to write.
