I went to see this on Tuesday night. It's the first time I've been to the theatre in
two months. I was starting to suffer withdrawal symptoms. I read about this in a
trashy women's magazine a long time ago; my mother wouldn't take me to see it last
year while it was in the city.
It's amazing; it's sort of like Rocky Horror except with no original songs. There
were at least fifty people all dressed up as various characters from the show; and
every time a new character was introduced or a new song started up there were huge
cheers from the audience (this being new for me, generally the theatre audience is a
little more subdued.)
Afterwards we went into the foyer and sought out people to sign my program. We
managed to get nearly everyone except Toyah Willcox's - my friend Sarah (who went to
see it on Wednesday) did, however, succeed in seeking Toyah out and getting a
picture. Also with a few other cast members, but not as many autographs as we managed
I wanted to go again. We didn't get home until after eleven, and my mother was
terribly worried I wouldn't get up properly the next day.
