……Eat my heart out?
It was mine to start with.
But, it’s now mine!
I’ve kept it safe in my chest’s pocket.
No longer, It would have been corrupted.
So you say….It was my other’s replacement.
I know, I myself put it there.
So there? My heart’s ripped out by
my lover’s own hand?
You understand. Now Love, be still,
Love be sweet. Death’s at your shoulder,
It’s scythe at your feet.
Dead? You leave me for dead?
I’d have been better if you’d cut off my head.
Ah, but that would be murder!
I wouldn’t dream of such a thing.
I merely take back what’s mine.
Oh and it is customary to take gifts back?
Don’t ever give away what you can’t take back!
But I could and I did.
And is it not custom to take one’s things with
Them when one goes away?
Sir, are you to walk out the doorway?
But of course you are going away!
Love, don’t be that way…..
I know not this love you speak of!
I used to think it was like a dove…
But I’ve no heart!
I have no you, remember?
Love is an exclusive club.
Heart is a unique pass.
It’s recognized by an other member.
And I shall forget you, you think?
My soul has your name written all over,
In your favorite ink.
Love, don’t be melodramatic.
I beseech you,
To be sarcastic.
Tis the best cure for a chest that nurtured,
I think I am not being melodramatic.
For the situation you present me with is quite problematic!
And as for sarcasm,
T’was nice to met, greet, and love you!
So glad you ripped out our heart,
And for that I think we must indeed part!
So pleasant to have you agree.
So pleasing to make you see, finally!
The deed is done, the song sung!
So I must take my leave, Oh Beloved One.
This is based on a dream I had.
The first two lines actually came from my dream.
It was a dream where a boy reached into my chest,
ripped out my heart, and ate it in front of me
while I sit there staring at the hole in my chest.
I could see all of my insides.
