On May 5, 2010, a student.. and a friend Nick Morris has been suspended from taking
down a Mexican Flag.
Some say he did stupid things.
I say that he did something heroic.
The link has a picture of the KCHS with the Mexican Flag shown above.
Every other classroom usually post their flag up to the ceiling.
This Mexican flag that is shown is raised much higher than any American/Texan flag,
which disrespects the country, and the state of Texas.
"It could have been a Russian flag or French flag, I still would have taken it
down. If you looked at the American Flag and Texan flag, in another part of the
building, the Mexican Flag was much higher," said the 10th-grade ROTC cadet. "Before
I took it down, I sent a picture of it to my mom and she called the school to tell
them we were offended and they hung up on her."
When Nick called his mother, the mother called the KISD. The only results were
negative, leaving them with no support what so ever.
More info will be right on the website.
The second website will give you an inside look of what Nick did and how the
situation was created.
My Point Of View (P.O.V.)
It hasn't been announced until today, where I noticed something different. On Friday,
May 7 of 2010, there were five people who no one knew was holding one two-inch yard
American flag across the street and stood there all day long.
Now, I was practicing for the NCO tryout this after school. It was 7:45am when after
the flags were normally raised, there was something going on.
My coach/teacher told us that it wasn't one of our people, even though one wore the
Later onward, more rumors came alive, telling us each rumor that was getting closer
to the truth.
We have heard the real news once the newscasters came to our school outside and
interviewed some people.
The JROTC students (including the Lady Tigers Drill Team) didn't bother to come
All of my friends from JROTC have been posting this up tonight on facebook. It has
been crazy to hear people's statements.
One disagreed on this, and it made me sad.
Comments? Any thoughts of this?
