Really, I got, like, the 20000th letter asking "wanna roleplay" and I look at the
sender's profile, and they cyber.
PEOPLE SHOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME THAT ROLEPLAYING IS CYBERING.
The definition of roleplaying does not even mention cybering.
"Role-playing refers to the changing of one's behavior to assume a role, either
unconsciously to fill a social role, or consciously to act out an adopted role. While
the Oxford English Dictionary defines roleplaying as "the changing of one's behavior
to fulfill a social role", the term is used more loosely in three senses:
To refer to the playing of roles generally such as in a theater, or educational
To refer to a wide range of games including computer role-playing games, play-by-mail
games and more;
To refer specifically to role-playing games."
COMPUTER ROLE PLAYING GAMES DO NOT INCLUDE CYBERING. ON KUPIKA, IT IS A MIX OF
DEFINITION ONE AND DEFINITION 2. PRETENDING TO BE AN ORIGINAL CHARACTER AND ACTING
OUT STORIES. NOT FRIGGIN' CYBERING.
*pant* Wow, I yelled a lot there.
