Fishi was right.
Her friends had come much fast then Mana could bring them. Sera and Shiki went under
Mikan's arms for support. Mana had been neglecting her friends ever since they
arrived in the other world, at it had been dubbed by her friends. Mana went to walk
befise her friends. A few silent moments passed.
"So, Mana..." Sera started.
"How's your training?"
"It's ok. I cast my first spell today."
"Lucky..." Shiki muttered under her breath.
"Don't worry, Shiki. I'm pretty sure they'll teach you too. And if they don't, I
will." Mana said confidently.
"Look, I'm sorry for neglecting you guys the past few days..."
"No worries, Mana. We understand." Sera chimed.
"So, we're still BFF's?"
It took them awhile to get back into Giaga. As they were walking through town, Mana
was in the center of the group. Takuya and Kiri were behind her. She couldn't help
but overhear their conversation.
"What is it?"
"See that purple haired she-elf? She's been spying on me since we arrived in Giaga."
"No, there seems to be something almost...familiar about her."
Mana looked around to see if she could spy the girl Takuya was talking about. She
soon spotted her.
She had violet hair, and a plain tunic. She didn't look any older then Takuya.
"That's Tamiu." Mana swung her head to see Etsuya was beside her.
"She's one of the youngest elves in the village, and was a real troublemaker, along
with her twin brother."
"Who's her brother?"
"It's been so long, his name escapes me, but when they were seven, He was kidnapped.
Nobody has heard from him since."
" 'Tis. Now she does something useful. She helps the elves here who can't take care
of themselves. I'm sure she still misses her brother."
Mana couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She suddenly wondered if she had any lost
When they were back at Etsuya's hut, they immidiatly started treating Mikan's ankle.
Mana told everyone she wanted to explore Giaga. Nobody minded, and Spirit wanted to
come too, so Mana took her along. She sat on Mana's shoulder as they toured the
"So, how are you liking the hero biz, Miss Chosenplayer?"
"I'm not very fond of it..."
"It has benifits, you know. Fame, friendship, respect." Mana thought back to
when she was still in school. Nobody respected her in the orphanage...
Mana felt herself dragged between two huts. Spirit screamed in alarm. She fought back
to see who yanked her. It was the elf teen, Tamiu.
"Would you mind telling me why you yanked me so rudely?"
"I just need to know something, Chosenplayer."
"I someone named Takuya traveling with you?"
"Then, he has finally returned!"
"He's never been here before-"
"Yes he has! When he was little!"
"How would you know?"
"I'm his sister!"
"How? You're an elf and he isn't?"
Tamiu flintched at the remark.
Mana suddenly felt sorry for yelling at her.
"I-I'm sorry then. Continue what you were doing, Chosenplayer." She did a little
curtsy. Mana turned around and quickly walked out of the alley. Spirit was hanging
onto her shirt the whole time. She nearly fell off when Mana was yanked. Spirit
quickly scrambled up onto Mana's shoulder.
"What on earth was that about?"
"I don't know, but something tells me there is a lot I still need to learn about this
When Mana got back to the hut, she saw Mikan was up and about, trying to limp on her
foot. Mana was suprised that they didn't give her crutches or something else to
support her. She looked like she was struggling... Mana ran back outside and scoured
the ground for any branches she could use for crutches. It didn't take her long to
find two Y-shaped branches that could be used for crutches. She went back to the hut,
and showed Mikan how to use them. She accepted them greatfully, thanking Mana. Mana
was glad she could help, but she was sure she would do fine. She seemed cheery, but
inside, something was hurting her. Just like Shiki.
Shiki was getting along very well with Hiki. Mana couldn't get over how much
coincedences they had. But Shiki was an orphan. She didn't have any siblings...did
Mana was glad to see that Eichiro had cheered up a bit since he woke up. He spent a
lot of his time flying with Taheiji. Mana was glad that he wasn't upset, but she
still wanted to ask him about his relationship with Muskinatu. She was still weary
about their relationship.
Deep in the forest, south of Giaga, Naono was laying on the ground, still trying to
get thr breath that was knocked out of him. By some miracle, He had avoided hitting
any trees, but when he landed, he skidded on the ground, skinning his right arm. He
lay on the ground for a few hours before he got the strength to stagger to his feet.
Man, was he feeling low. The prince kid, Eichiro, Him and his pet were going to pay
for openly mocking him. He had taken just too much abuse over his life, and he was
going to take it out on Eichiro and his friends. He didn't even care about the
orphanage anymore. This was about revenge. He looked around at his
surroundings. There were trees every way he looked. There was no sign of life
anywhere. The forest was dead silent.
He was lost.
But he wasn't alone. He could suddenly sense another presence in the silent forest.
He felt eyes bore into his back. He swung around to see another human was with him.
All the way out here? The figure was a man nearly a decade older then Naono. He had
brown hair and menacing eyes. He wore a cload so his body was hidden.
"You're Naono, I assume?"
Naono didn't answer.
"Were you bullied by that wretch, Eichiro?"
Naono remained silent, but he put his good hand to his skinned arm, despite it
stinging. The man seemed pleased.
"You want to get him bac, don't you? You want revenge."
Naono could feel the hate from over the years coming out.
"And what about that girl, Mana? Isn't she your sworn enemy?"
The man was right. Mana and him hated each other from day one.
"We both have the need to give both of them what they deserve."
Naono finally found the courage to speak.
"Wh-who are you?"
"Me? I'm Shikuro."
Naono flintched. the man from Eichiro's past?
"We both have the need to get revenge on those two kids, and their friends, right?"
Naono slowly nodded, breathing heavy. Shikuro held out his hand.
"Join me, and I promise I can give you the revenge you want.I can teach you things
they are forbidden to know."
Naono's face showed determination, and he reached his good hand out and grabbed
