Just as a man can't live on bread without any water, so we can't hope to live with
prayer without reading or discussing God's word. Yessir, that big book that looks
too much like a dictionary.
Relationships need communication, right? Well, in the same way your relationship
with God needs communication. Prayer is more our way of talking to Him than to us,
granted I know he talks back sometimes. God's favorite way of talking to us is by
his word, the bible. *shakes head* It isn't simply stories and it sure as hell is
not only relevant to the past. It is alive and the same verse can speak differently
to different people based on their needs. I would rather you memorize and know a few
verses perfectly well than have read the whole book and not had anything stick. The
bible is transformational, not informational. (I'm so witty XD *shot*)
ahem. Nothing quite replaces spending time reading and thinking about God's word.
Really, approach God's word with expectancy. Expect to grow, to be challenged, to be
provided for, and to learn something.
Don't confuse this with any other "book". Its not a simple book. Its Basic
Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
Don't believe me? Read some of the red lettering (Jesus talking) in Matthew, Mark,
Luke, John or basically any of the New Testament books. Read with expectancy.
Oh, and have you heard this song yet? The intro is a little annoying, but its catchy
