I breathed slowly in and out, in and out. I stared at the rock in front of me, the
rock that had once been my grandfather. I tried not to imagine his last moments, as
the disease we called Bacculus turned him to stone while trying to save the
"Grandpa," I said. "I'm sorry I haven't been able to come very often, 'kay? I'm doing
good, don't worry. Lutie is teaching me a lot, and I even have lots of students

Then I realized, Lutie had a class late tonight. Then who... I turned around slowly
