A blonde, a redhead, and a brunette were on trial. After much persuasion, the judge
agrees to a test: each of them (one at a time) would sit in a chair and listen to a
comedian tell jokes. If they could sit through a thousand jokes without laughing,
then they would be free to go. However, if they laughed before all 1,000 jokes had
been told, they would have to serve whatever sentence was decided on.
So the testing begins. The redhead goes first. She manages to sit through 162 jokes,
and then she starts laughing.
She gets beheaded. (By the way, this is by no means a modern civilization)
The brunette goes next. She doesn't laugh until the 428th joke. Then she starts
laughing, and is drowned.
Then it's the blonde's turn. The comedian, talking in a funny voice (which is the
voice he usually talks in while telling jokes because, *hint, hint* it's funny), tells
his first joke. The blonde does not laugh. The comedian tells his second joke. Still
she is silent. The comedian tells his next joke, and his next, and his next. Soon he
is on his 999th joke, and he's thinking that the blonde is going to make it.
Suddenly, she bursts out laughing, and laughs her way through her sentence, which is
that she will be beheaded, like the redhead.
When she finally stops laughing, the comedian asks her why she started laughing. "You
were on the 999th joke," he said. "Just a little bit more, and you would have been
free to go."
The dumb blonde says, "____________________________."
What did she say?
