Note: Chapter in Marina's pov.
The wind blew the snow in a flurry around me. I chuckled and crossed my
arms over my chest to give myself some extra warmth. I glaned around me at all the
village cottages and houses. The children playing outside was little intrest to me
today. I walked towards the village outskirts where the abandoned cottages were. But
before I could actully reach the outskirt lines I heard my little brother behind me.
"What do you want?" My voice was alittle harsher then I meant for it to
be as I turned towards my brother.
"Dad wants you inside to open presents"
"Tell him i'll be in right after I'm done checking out the damage from
last nights blizzard" I answered. I smiled at him and watched him walked off before
walking towards the line of the cottages on the villagfe outskirt line. One house at
a time I inspected the outside then inside of the houses. It was the last one that
surprised me most.
Inside was a girl. She looked to be around my age. And she seemed dazed,
as if she was thought she was dreaming. Her hair was long and unkept in the most
gorgeous shade of pink I had ever seen. Paler then a wildflower, but not so pale to
be considered a pastel. Her ears told me she was different, a neko. This village
hadn't seen a neko since my mothers childhood. And her eyes. They were a gorgeous
red, no pink. It was hard to tell. I stood there staring at her when she turned
around to look at me. She stared at me in amazement and fear.
"Who are you?" we asked in unison.
