The puzzle-piece effect begins.
Look out to the dance floor.
What do you see?
At the center of the floor, you see Katie.
Shortest in the room. Her bright pink hair swishing, she’s banging her head to the
music and thrashing around in circles.
She’s the sarcastic one. The one with all the comments. But also the one with
passion, with determination, fieriness…and unending loyalty.
Up against the wall, you see Kacie.
Skulking away from the crowd, obscuring her face with her long blonde locks. Her eyes
dart around, on the lookout for others.
She’s the intelligent one. The brainster. Sharp as a tack, yet blunt and cold as a

If you glance over near the bathrooms, you’ll see Rachel.
Yeah. The one spraying people with silly string and screaming “RESPECT THE
LLAMA!” Her exceedingly bright hair warns the people around her of her odd form of
Even her friends don’t understand her.
She’s just Rachel.
Let’s leave it at that.
Last but not least, by the food counter, you see Courtney.
Sipping Gatorade out of a bottle, a smile as if no worries to plague her. Her dark
black wave of hair has lime green streaks shooting through it like lightening,
glowing in the dark black light.
She’s the quieter, sweeter one. A personality of silenced sugar, with no timing or
deliverance to aid her. But, deep down, her emotions lie beneath her skin, waiting
for a chance to escape.
These are the five that create our story.
These girls are about to be taken,
From the reality they know and hate…
Into quite the puzzling world, indeed.
