First they put away the dealers
and then they put away the prostitutes
then they shoot away the bums
and beat and bash the queers
turned away asylum seekers
fed us suspicion and fear
we didn't raise our voice,
we didn't make a fuss
it's funny,
there was no one left to notice
....when they came for us

~victor hara

ummmm so i just like saw this on the back of a victor hara album & stuff its kind of
interesting to think about if you take the time
i don't know... i've kind of been a poetry head lately and i think i'm going to post
some more of my favorite stuff on here if people take interest

......p.s........ (afterthought time!!!)
there was a poem somewhat similar to this on a wall next to the exiting door of the
holocaust museum
that one is more famous than this because it names religions and ethnicities instead
of jobs or lifestyles
it speaks to a wider range of people therefore it fits well in a museum in our
nation's capital - punishing groups of people who are unlike you or don't believe in
the same things you do isn't going to get you anywhere but hell ; )
