All right. I'm still very new at this whole poetry thing. Please, be kind. But be
truthful, as well. I'd really like to know what it's like.

Winter Rose

sharp and sweet
a rose of ice
the new monster beneath the bed
but this monster was greeted
invited and welcomed
it lurks in the shadows
carved into the faint wooden frame
it is a simple guarantee
insurance if you will
waiting for the right time
when the dark is steel and ebony
when the voices echo in your ears
it will become a savior
a shining ruthless angel
to cut through the endless facade
and bloom the winter roses
