At school the next day I sat on my usual seat in the middle of the quadrangle with
my friends. They were talking about something called ‘Twilight’, which I had no
interest in, while I was captivated by the beauty of Michael. He was sitting across
the quadrangle with a couple of the guys in my class.

“Lauren? Are you there or somewhere else?” Julie asked sarcastically. “Oh, I
ah... I’m here. Just distracted” I answered quickly. “Sure” Cassandra said
while turning to look in the direction I was looking. “A guy, you’re starring at
a guy? I thought all the guys weren’t good enough for you Lauren” Cassandra

“Um yeah, I met him yesterday” I mumbled while turning my head back to my
friends. “Ok spill sister” Julie whispered to our group. “Well his name is
Michael Roberts. He’s the hottest person on the face of the planet” I murmured
while trying not to blush.

I woke up the next morning to a chilly Saturday breeze that lofted through my open
window. I heard the soft scuffling of shoes on pavement just outside of my house. I
got out of bed immediately and walked in vampire speed to my window.

Michael was standing just in front of my porch fiddling with some of the flowers that
grew on vines. I smiled a little and turned away and got dressed and ran downstairs
in my usual vampire pace. I opened the door slowly. “Hi Michael” I greeted him

“Hi Lauren, How are you today?” Michael asked. I smiled and replied “I’m
ecstatic”. “That’s good to know” He said softly “Now I was wondering if we
could hang today”. “Sure. What about the mall?” I replied sheepishly. “Ok
let’s go” He said smiling as he stepped out of the doorway for me to pass.

“So, how are you liking Kanahooka?” I asked trying to start off a conversation
while walking slowly towards Dapto Mall. “Kanahooka is a wonderful place” He
replied while smiling. I looked towards him and smiled into his eyes. There was
something warm buried within the depths of his blue eyes. Was it love?
