A little piece of wise quotesCategory: (general)

First of all I will expand this list from time to time so it's definitely never

and I wanna start with one quote that explains much about human nature:

"Nothing is so common-place, as the wish to be remarkable" William Shakespeare

"memories are the only paradise from which no one can expel you, but it's also the
one thing that makes appreciating your present life so damn hard ..."
(the first part is from Jean Paul while the second part is what i added myself)

“The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left
undone”. Harriet Beecher Stowe

"Porque tu esperas si el que espera, desespera? veras! .... si no esperas desesperas"
(by Orishas in the song el kilo)
(it's Spanish and it means: "Why do you hope, if the one who hopes despairs? You'll
see! .... If you don't hope you despair")

"cogito ergo sum" (Rene Descartes) (it means "I think therefore I am")

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years"
(Abraham Lincoln)

"Nothing is permanent in this wicked world. Not even our troubles" (Charlie Chaplin)

"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is
when men are afraid of the light" (Plato)

"Try again, fail again. Fail better" (Samuel Beckett)

"Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast
light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for
it" (Terry Pratchett)

"The distinction between children and adults, while probably useful for some
purposes, is at bottom a specious one, I feel. There are only individual egos, crazy
for love. " (Niccolo Machiavelli)

"The more sand has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see
through it." (Niccolo Machiavelli, an italian philospher who was majorly concerned
with politics)

"Where the willingness is great, the difficulties cannot be great." (Niccolo

"Whoever desires constant success must change his conduct with the times." (Niccolo
Machiavelli, btw the rapper Tupac used his name as a second alias Makaveli)

Now some quotes by a very special man. The last quote will be the most important to
me. These are all by Socrates, maybe the wisest person to ever live.

"Life contains but two tragedies. One is not to get your heart's desire; the other is
to get it."

"I am not an Athenian, nor a Greek, but a citizen of the world."

"Nature has given us two ears, two eyes, and but one tongue-to the end that we should
hear and see more than we speak."

"I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think."

"Know thyself. "

"True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life,
ourselves, and the world around us. "

"One thing only I know, and that is that I know nothing. "

here follow some quotes about music:

“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to
everything.” - Plato
“Music is love in search of a word.” - Sidonie Gabrielle
...“Music is the soul of language.” - Max Heindel
“Music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memory.” - Oscar Wilde
“Without music, life would be an error.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

I will add more quotes later. And I appreciate any comments suggestions and other

cool quotes man! this one is my favourtie: Long experience has taught
me this about the status of mankind with regard to matters requiring
thought: the less people know and understand about them, the more
positively they attempt to argue concerning them, while on the other
hand to know and understand a multitude of things renders men cautious
in passing judgement upon anything new. ~ Galileo Galilei
