"My friend hasnt returned from the battle field,
Requesting permision to go search for him Sir"
said a soldier to his comanding officer.  "Permission denied" replied 
the officer. I dont want you to risk your life for a man 
who is probably already dead. The soldier paid no 
attention and ran off. An hour later 
he returned gravely injured, carrying with him 
the corpse of his friend. The officer was furious. "I 
told you he was dead! Tell me, was it worth the trouble to go
over and retrieve a corpse!?" The soldier, worn out
replied: "Of course Sir! When I found him, 
he was still alive to tell me " I knew you'd come for me"



aunt sent it....seems like a pretty good back ground story for a Ranger.
