They say childrens minds are simple
That the world's not black and white
That sometimes what you need to do
Is to stand up, and to fight.
But I am not a child
And I still don't think that's true:
Because when you get right down to it
They shouldn't be fighting you!

-My friend Mariana (Nationalist) and I (pacifist) were debating earlier. It started
out as a debate about war but turned into a debate about killing in general. (that's
when I thought of that poem.)

I withhold that ending the life of another human being is murder, and murder is wrong
no matter what.
Mariana said that there were some situations in which killing is okay.
So I asked her to tell me what made murder a good option.
She said "when your fighting in defense of your country, or your family."
I told her that killing is still wrong and I wouldn't do it.
She said "So your saying if someone was trying to kill your sister, your wouldn't
kill them out of defense?"
I asked her why they would kill my sister.
She said "that's not the point!"

I responded "Yes it is! That's exactly the point! No one should be killing
anybody else!"

It all comes down to the root of the problem. If someone was killing
my brother I would naturally want to kill them... but why are they
killing ihm in the first place?
