Lexaeus scowled at Xaveria, but then thought and his scowl changed to confusion.
"You! You would take his place?" Lexaeus asked Xaveria.
"Xaveria! No! You don't know what you're doing!" Vexen told his daughter.
"If I did, would you let him go?" Xaveria asked Lexaeus, ignoring Vexen.
"Yes, but you must promise to stay here forever." Lexaeus told her.
Xaveria pondered the situation, and then realized that she hadn't seen the captor.
"Come into the light.." Xaveria told Lexaeus.
Lexaeus dragged his legs, then his whole body into the beam of light. Xaveria looked
up at Lexaeus, her eyes grew wider until she could stand no more and fell back to
Vexen, placing her hands on the bars.
"No Xaveria! I won't let you do this!" Vexen told her.
Xaveria let go of the bars and stood up, walking over to Lexaeus.
"You have my word..!" Xaveria told him.
"Done!" Lexaeus spoke quickly, and moved over to Vexen's cell.
Xaveria collapsed to the floor, her had in her hands.
Lexaeus unlocked the cell's door, as Vexen ran over to Xaveria.
"No, Xaveria. Listen to me. I'm old, I've lived my life--" Vexen told her.
Lexaeus grabbed Vexen, and dragged him off down the stairs, as Xaveria and Vexen
called for each other.
Lexaeus dragged Vexen outside and up to a Pallenquin.
"No, please spare my daughter!" Vexen pleaded.
"She's no longer your concern." Lexaeus told Vexen, throwing him into the
"Take him to the village!" he said, as the Pallenquin broke the ivy that was holding
it to the ground, and then heads off towards the village.
Xaveria was watching from the tower window, and began to quietly cry.
Lexaeus started climbing the tower stairs as Demyx interrupted him.
"Em.. Master??" Demyx stuttered.
"What?!?" Lexaeus growled angrily.
"Since the girl is going to be with us for quite some time... I was thinking that you
might want to offer her a more comfortable room?" Demyx asked.
Lexaeus growled angrily at him, and stormed up the stairs.
"Then again mayby not..!" Demyx muttered.
Xaveria was sitting on her knee's in the tower room, her head in her hands, crying
quietly. Lexaeus entered the room, not saying anything.
"You didn't even let me say goodbye! I'll never see him again! I didn't even get to
say goodbye..!" Xaveria cried.
Lexaeus rubbed the back of his head, feeling rather guilty.
"I'll show you to your room.." he told her, turning around and heading for the door.
"My Room? But I thought.." Xaveria muttered.
"You wanna stay in the tower?" Lexaeus asked, his arms spread outwards.
"No.." Xaveria answered.
"Then follow me.." Lexaeus told her, walking out the room.
Lexaeus led Xaveria to her room. As they proceeded, Xaveria began to lag behind. She
looked at the hideous sculptures on the walls and the light casting shadows on them.
Noticing she was falling behind, she gasped and ran to catch up with Lexaeus, who was
carrying Demyx as a light source. Lexaeus looked back at Xaveria, and saw a tear form
at the corner of her eye.
"Say something to her!" Demyx told Lexaeus.
"Oh.. emm... I.. hope you like it here.." Lexaeus told Xaveria.
He looked down at Demyx, as Demyx signalled Lexaeus to continue.
"The castle is your home now, so you can go anywhere you wish, except the West Wing."
he told her.
"What's in the West Wing?" Xaveria asked curiously.
"It's forbidden!" Lexaeus growled.
He then continued to walk towards Xaveria's room, Xaveria following closely behind
As they got to her room, Lexaeus opened the door and let Xaveria step inside.
"Now, if there's anything you need, my servants will attend you." he told her.
"Dinner! Invite her to Dinner!" Demyx whispered to Lexaeus.
"You will... join me for Dinner..! That's not a request!" Lexaeus told her, and
slammed the door shut.
Xaveria turned around and looked up at the door. She turned back around, and ran over
to the bed, flinging herself onto it, and finally breaking down into tears.
Meanwhile, in the Tavern in the village, Xemnas was sitting in his chair, thinking
"Who does she think she is? That girl has tangled with the wrong man. No one says
'no' to Xemnas!" Xemnas spoke out loud.
"Darn right!" Saix answered back.
"Dismissed. Rejected. Publicly humiliated. Why, it's more than I can bear." he
continued, turning his chair away from Saix.
"More beer?" Saix asked, running back around to the front of the chair.
"What for? Nothing helps. I'm disgraced." Xemnas said, turning his chair around
"Who, you? Never. Xemnas, you've got to pull yourself together." Saix told Xemnas,
running around to face Xemnas again.
Just then, Vexen burst into the Tavern.
"Help! Someone help me!" Vexen yelled.
"Please! Please, I need your help! He's got her. He's got her locked in the dungeon."
Vexen told the people in the Tavern.
"Who..?" a man at the Tavern asked him.
"Xaveria! We must go. N-not a minute to lose!" Vexen said quickly.
"Whoa! Slow down, Vexen. Who's got Xaveria locked in a dungeon?" Xemnas asked.
"A beast! A horrible, monstrous beast!" Vexen answered Xemnas' question.
Everyone began to laugh at Vexen, and then decided to start to mock and tease him.
"Is it a big beast?" one man asked.
"Huge!" Vexen answered.
"With a long, ugly snout?" another asked.
"And sharp, cruel fangs?".
"Yes, yes! Will you help me?" he asked them.
"All right, old man. We'll help you out" Xemnas grinned.
"You will? Oh thankyou, thankyou!" Vexen smiled.
Two men from the Tavern picked up Vexen, and threw him out into the snow, laughing.
"Carzy old Vexen. He's good for a laugh though!" one of the men laughed.
"Crazy old Vexen hmm? Crazy old Maurice. Hmmm?" Xemnas muttered under his breath.
Xemnas signalled Saix to come over, which he did so. Xemnas started whispering his
plan into Saix's ear, grinning as he did so.
