I might finally be entering the labor force. My mom got an email from a friend about
seeing an add looking for barn help. Qualifications including being able to tend to
livestock, sweep a floor clean, and lift fifty pounds without issue.

I think I'm ready for a part time job. I really hope this works about, but if not,
I'll find something else. I mean, I'm a licensed babysitter in New York State, I
volunteered for two years in my local butterfly sactuary (yes, we have one of those
xD) and I spent two weeks as a junior summer camp counselor. (2weeks= one session.)
That'd make an okay resume for a fourteen year old, right?

Anyone have employment advice for me? Considering I will possibly be working at a
llama farm.

I, too, am entering the labour force this summer. I'm working at the
Calgary Stampede, which is really exciting. It's like a four-hour
flight from where I live, too, and I'm staying with my aunt and uncle,
so it's also soemhwat nerve-wracking.

I don't really have a lot of advice, but good luck! :D

My advice is write down what hours you're doing, and make sure you're
being paid if you're doing overtime. (Sounds stupid but if they can
get away with not paying you, they will.)

Oh, and be thankful you're not working in retail. Customers are scum.

Have fun.

not really a turning point, more like a milestone in the road?...
good luck just persevere, the problem is the job market everywhere
sucks but there may be a lot of entry level positions in certain
things available

Good luck to you too!

I'm not worried about what the other tow said in there comments. This
is work I'm going to enjoy, and if a family farm can't afford to pay
all I earn right away, I don't mind.

Exactly... some people are just immensely negative. -_-
