I may come off a bit scroog-ish but I will stand by the following statement:
Thanksgiving is a holiday that really doesn't need to exist.
We should all take a little bit of time every day to remind ourselves of what we have
I am guilty of forgetting far too often that I have been blessed in so many ways.
I have a house to come home to every night, and I don't have to pay a penny of rent.
There are millions of people even in our own country that can't say that.
I may not drive a BMW, but I have a car that gets me where I need to go.
After I wrecked my first car, I was lucky enough to get another one without too much
time without one.
I would be nothing without my family.
They are helping pay for my college, including my two wasted semesters.
My dad paid off the credit card debt that I was stupid enough to build up.
I haven't had a job for a while, yet they listen, understand and aren't too pushy.
My parents have never abused me, physically or verbally, and I personally know people
that aren't so lucky.
My grandparents have given me work mowing yards every week while it is still
I have had opportunities arise that have allowed me to get by and still be able to
spend time with my friends.
I always have food to eat, I have never gone to bed hungry.
I am going back to school to be a teacher.
I have had my troubles, but through it all I have come out a better person.
I met the most amazing girl in the world.
Jesse, you have changed my life in the most perfect way possible, and I am forever
grateful to have you.
I think every day we should take some time to just breathe and think about how much
worse it could be.
After all, if you are still breathing, it can't be all bad.
Be thankful just to be alive, and to have the chance to wake up and greet every day
with a smile.
I guess it ain't so bad having one day to remember how blessed we really are, but we
shouldn't limit it to that.
Most of us have it far better than we think, and that gives us the chance to help
those who aren't so lucky.
Just remember that tomorrow, when the turkey is cold and the pumpkin pie is all but
Let's all be thankful for every single day we are given.
