so, I moved to America 5 years ago. I was nine when we moved and starting elementary
school was relatively easy. Everyone thought it was so cool that I was from France.
"I wanna play with Katie!" , "No, I wanna play with Katie!". I knew that at first it
was just for the novelty of having a friend from a foreign country but pretty soon I
made some real friends. Middle school was pretty cool too, The fact that I was still
learning english didn't affect my experience the least. There was still all the
drama: boys, clothes, gossip, parties. But now, well, actually about 2 weeks ago, my
mom announced "Deviner ce que Katie? Nous nous déplaçons! " my first
response was obviously "Soutenir en France?!" (that means for all of you
non-french speakers: "guess what katie, were moving!, back to france?") But, no,
sadly, were moving to, the , uh I dont want to say it, SUBURBS! American suburbs are
ten times worse than French suburbs, I mean you have to DRIVE every place. That is
really bad for the trees! And, also, I will be starting high school in NEWTON,
MASSACHUSETTS! I mean I didn't throw a fit when I had to move to BOSTON! But NEWTON!
I think I'm going to go cry in the corner now...
