Rough Draft
	The Boston Tea party was a huge waste of tea, but it got British angry which helped
start the revolutionary war. The Boston Tea Party was dozens of members of the sons
of liberty dressed as Indians. They threw boxes of British tea into the Boston
Harbor on December 16, 1773. This happened because colonists didn’t want to pay
British taxes. Boston Tea Party was a huge leap for the colonies. It showed people
wouldn’t pay British taxes, it brought the colonies together, and it started the
revolutionary war. 

	Britain and the colonies were in a great debt after fighting in the French and
Indian war. Britain was trying to pay off the debts by putting taxes on the
colonies. The colonies, who were also trying to pay off their, own debts, got angry.
They didn’t want to pay larger taxes, for they were already paying off gigantic
debts of their own. The colonists managed to take away all of the taxes. Such as the
sugar tax and the stamp tax, but there was one tax that the colonists couldn’t get
taken away. That tax was the tea tax. Britain had left this tax in play to show that
they were still in charge of the colonies. As a result to the tea tax staying, the
sons of liberty dumped boxes of tea off of three British tea ships.

	Due to the Boston Tea Party, Britain closed off the Boston Harbor. They wouldn’t
let anything or anything out except there own trading ships. This meant the Boston
colonists couldn’t get smuggled beer or tea and they would have to buy it from
Britain. Boston started trying to make supplies for them selves. One group that was
started was the daughters of liberty. They sewed there own clothes and others
peoples too. The other colonies sent supplies to Boston to help them resist the
British taxes. Closing the Boston harbor was one of the intolerable acts that
Britain had put on the colonies! 

	The Boston Tea Party started the revolutionary war. It got both sides angry.
First, it got the British side angry because they lost a lot of money from all of
that tea going into the Boston Harbor. Also, it made colonists angry because they
now had to house soldiers, as one of the intolerable acts, and pay high taxes. The
Boston Tea Party also got people to start to raise armies, or minute men. The
British also had to start an army so they had soldiers stay in the Boston Harbor in
case they had to invade.

	In conclusion, the revolutionary war was started by the Boston Tea Party, people
don’t have to pay British taxes, and all the colonies joined together to beat the
British. Isn’t it cool how a bunch of men dressed as Indians made our home
independent?
