So in science class we were doing this stupid experiment on floating tin foil boats.
So this guy who sits next to me says...
"I like you're boat." I didn't realize he was talking to me at first.
"Thanks." Then all I hear is...
"-pretty." I didn't catch what he said before he said pretty... because he was saying
it kind of quietly. But then my brain went into overdrive, of course, like it always

Pretty, as in it's pretty? As in the boat? Or... pretty as in... you're pretty, as
in... you think that I am pretty.
Because, you know, you're not so bad yourself...

He probably said "it's pretty" because saying "you're pretty" is a
little awkward just coming out of nowhere like that. But about us
guys, a thing we tend to do (either intentionally or subconsciously)
is point out random things girls make and call them "pretty" or "cute"
or "beautiful" as a proxy to express our feelings about the girl. So
there's a good chance he was talking about you =P He could have also
just been being friendly. Regardless, he went out of his way to
approach you, get your attention, and give you a compliment; that's a
good thing, haha.

lol, I didn't think he would have randomly said you're pretty either
:P of course I would of wished he had, because I'm a girl and this guy
pretty much makes me science class. :D that's really interesting!
yeah, he's an outgoing kind of guy. And I'm a shy kind of girl :c But
thanks! That was actually helpful
