I was thinking about this the other day, but why do bboys give a fuck so much? Not
every bboy but certain ones I know/met/seen at practices, jams, so on and so
forth. When these bboys throw down/ create a new move and such they always got to ask
“yo how that look?” “yo this look aight?” “yo watchu think?” My question
is “Why do you need my approval?” In fact why should you need anyones approval?
Bboying is an art form and we are artists and like artists we must be able to
creatively express ourselves. What you do and create is YOUR art, not anyone else’s
so why do they need to like it? If you have to ask for approval you gotta ask
yourself…Is it more important to like your own work? or to have others approve and
understand it? I don’t know about you.. but its more important to me if I LIKE what
I do…dancing is a passion and its how you express your thoughts, feelings, and
ideas into one fluid movement, it is the true and rawest representation of who you
are. If you are truly passionate and honestly expressing yourself in what you do then
others will dig it and be able to feel what you feel.
“You should always go by how it feels to you, not how it looks to you.” -
Just writing down my thoughts and feelings cuz well yeah...feel free to say your
opinion and what not.
