WARNING: Might trigger self harm so don't read if you are trying to stop.
I wrote this poem. I was inspired by Dorothy Parker's poem Resumé:
I know the lyrics might suck a little as I wrote this off the top of my head. Some of
you might be able to relate to this or understand, some of you might think it's
stupid. Some of you might not understand but salt and ice is a method of self harm.
It's a very dangerous method as it can scar really deep and get infected. It's
basically to give you frost bite, but its severity can be controlled. But yeah, it's
just a poem. So..read it?
Don't even bother with razors,
or knives cos' they're just fazes.
Cigarettes may burn your arm,
but on the inside do more harm.
Chemicals give off fumes,
that cloud up your room.
And don't even try flames,
because that's the wrong kind of pain.
But there is one thing,
that leaves on your skin,
either a wound or a bruise,
depending on the time it's used.
Something else to steal your life;
Salt and ice.
