To any Christian who is reading this. Isn't it hard to talk about God to friends? :/
Its always a really awkward subject for my friends and myself. My friends
are Christian, but only in name. They don't seem to seek to do God's work or to
actively grow and mature. Some don't go to church because of bad past experiences
and they carry that around with them for years instead of letting it go and giving
different churches a try. When the subject does come up.. what if I can't answer
their questions or respond to their arguments? What if I look silly? What if they
don't want to hang out with me so much after this? This is what I'll be covering
today.

To any Non-Christian (for lack of a better word, sorry :x) who is reading. Isn't it
awkward when one of your friends talks about God or church? I know some groups don't
feel this way, but most seem to. Have you ever felt judged? Like, has anyone
said to you "You're going to hell! D:<" for this or that or for nothing at all. Or
have you felt that others think "There goes the sinner"? Or do you dread when
someone says "I'll pray for you"? It can feel like they're looking down on you from
their soap box like some poor lost soul who could use their gracious mercy, as
if they've got everything under control and can spare some of their holy time to ask
Gawd's mercy upon you. Stuff like that. (If you've anything to add then please do
^_^. Experiences, impressions, anything.)

If anything I've said has been lucky enough to strike a chord with you, please feel
free to talk to me ^ ^. I'd love to hear your story, rant, things that others do
which annoy you. Doesn't matter if I know you or not.

Well, moving on.

So. What happens when you mention Jesus or God or going to church around your
friends? And what happens if another of your friends mentions it? (Please take a
moment to think of answers to these)

Here are a few verses on the subject. Don't worry, they aren't long and they are
very important.

Acts 1:7-8 He(Jesus) said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the
Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you;and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth."

Now, there is a lot said in those two verses. "It is not for you to know the times or
dates the Father has set by his own authority." Meaning it is not for us to know what
God's plan is, and He is God and we may trust Him. "But you will receive power when
the Holy Spirit comes on you" When You ask God to work through you, it is not by
your own wisdom or ability that you work by. I've walked into plenty of situations
where I was pretty clueless and prayed that God knew what was going on because I sure
didn't, and a lot of good came from those situations. God gives us what we need when
we need it. "and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem ... and to the ends of the
earth." To be Christ's witness is to seek out others and tell them "I have seen the
wonders of God! I have seen just a speck of his mercy, his love, his wisdom and I am
changed! Come and I will tell you of the good of God, how He changed me and can
change you too and give you life to the fullest." Not even just that, but there are
multitudes of ways to be God's witness. You don't even need to speak to others, it
may simply be by your good will that others see you are changed for the best.

Others include Matthew 5:14-16, Mark 1:17, Matthew 28:16-20 and many more if you are
interested.

To Christians, do not be afraid to share what you have learned and to evangelize. To
put it simply. Pray often. Spend time talking to and listening to God and be-not
just willing to be used by Him but eager for it. It is my hope that you will some
day pray "God I want to be used by you. May your will be done in me and through me,
not my own." Love God and love people and all else is made clearer.

To non-Christians. First off, thank you very much for reading this. I know this
could be boring and it is easy to be offended. Please know that we don't look down
upon you or dislike you. Whatever your life is, whoever you are... know that people
aren't born Christians. I wasn't one until I was a sophomore in high school. I know
who i was and where I was before I began growing. I do not follow blindly and I do
not lose more than I gain by loving God. I know there are Christians who give us a
bad name, for it is clearly written that we ARE NOT TO DAMN PEOPLE. We are to love,
never to hate or to put ourselves above anyone else. Anyway, to end my ramblings, I
sincerely hope that your attitude is or becomes "If there really is a God, I want to
see Him."

Thank you to anyone and everyone who takes the time to read what I write here. It is
my honest hope that you grew, even a smidge, from something here.
