I ran through the carts and barrows. I did not want to be late. Although Mother
would find another reason to scold me.

I rushed through the door and suddenly became aware that everything in the house was
empty. Yes, it was an akward moment, standing alone in the abandoned house. My heart
skipped a beat.

But, as I looked outside, my mother was waiting by a carriage; gesturing for me to go
in to it. I clumsily stumbled over a few rocks but finally managed to get there. My
Mother's voice seemed muffled... so distant and faraway. I caught a few words: "New
life" and "Family" The last word caught me off guard. Family? What family? I had no
family. Well, not a real family. Even so, all I had was a lonely widow that accepted
an orphan into her life. I called this widow Mother. As confused as I was, I stepped
into the carriage.

During the ride, I decided to make a point to talk to Mother and question her. Her
answers were brief and short. By what I understood, we were moving to
BemjaminTowne...a new colony in America. I was fine with that, except for Drazella, I
would miss her a bit...okay, alot! A tear slowly rolled down my cheek. So much for
being manly. Mother took one look at me and nodded her head understandingly. I
sullenly looked down at my feet.

We finally arrived at the harbor. I grabbed my luggage and slumped all the way to the
dock. A gruff man came up to me and took my bags. I dared not to refuse. I took one
good look at the boat. It was called "The Wasp". I took one look at the name, and
shivered. The boat itself wasn't a pleasent sight. My Mother soon came up to me with
her bags. To my surprise, no one came to help her with her bags. I grabbed them and
quickly stalked away on the boat. She quietly followed.

The ocean was calm. But that wasn't enough to reassure me. I stared at the water,
while it stared at me. The depths of it seemed to go on and on. I was rudely
interuppted by a horn. We were to leave in five minutes.
