I leant back against a log and sighed. I started singing to keep myself calm. I
tried tracing my steps back but they were lost a couple of metres away. The creature
had just vanished. I was really creeped out. Suddenly, I heard a voice. "Mum?" I
called out, standing up. There was Mrs Honeyberry!
"Hiya, Gemini," she said, smiling. I didn't like that smile at all. "What y'all doing
out here?"
"I was lost, and a creature was chasing me," I replied.
"A likely story," said Mrs Honeyberry, narrowing her eyes. "Y'all better tell me the
truth now!"
"It is the truth!" I shouted. "I swear on my Mum's life!"
"Then why has she just died, down the road?"
My heart froze. I turned deathly white. My hands ached. "Wh-what?"
"Yeah, that's right. Now you listen to me, Gemini. You must follow these orders.
Firstly, go into the town and buy a gun. The biggest one you can find. Then buy some
bullets, if you don't have enough money, nick them. Understand? Bring these back to
I shook my head. "N-no, I won't do it!"
Mrs Honeyberry was possessed. By the creature? Probably. "You will!" she screamed,
holding me by the neck. "Or I'll strangle you!"
"Ok, ok!" I shouted desperately. "But where's the town?"
"Figure it out yourself!" said Mrs Honeyberry, throwing me down on the floor. I
rubbed at the scratches on my neck and wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Ok, I'll go, but please tell me the way!" I was desperate now. I had to get home.
Was she really telling the truth about Mum?
"Through there," grunted Mrs Honeyberry, pointing and storming off.

o.O That was a short chapter.
