The flying fudgeballs?

We went to a Wendy's near our house yesterday and we passed a movie theater, and I
saw that the Lion King was playing again.
I was thoroughly confused.

I went on my daily check of, and a reviewer was giving her
own opinion on the re-release, as well as informing me that it was in 3D now.

Is it alright for me to ask HOW you're supposed to make good 3D for a 2D animated
movie? If the space that is being filmed in (IE live-action and CGI renderings) is
three-demensions that's fine, but how do you make a 3D movie out of a 2D animated
movie? Wouldn't it look sort of like cardboard cut-outs at best?

To be honest, I hadn't seen this movie until a couple of weeks ago, so I don't have
strong opinions on the movie, so is it worth seeing in theaters again?

I thought it looked okay in 3D. Not really necessary, but whatever.
Of course, it was the first movie I ever saw at the movies and it's
shocking to hear that you only watched it recently. For me, it was
part of my childhood, so I had to go see it again in theaters.
