America, Our Home

As I look around what do I see?
A little bit of you, a little bit of me.
This land we love is touched by war,
Our soldiers torn apart, their clothes are worn.
As Americans we live free,
Everyone lives here happily,
However, there are losses on both sides,
As often as an Indian tanning hides.
We fight for our freedom, to protect what is right,
But honestly, should we have to fight?
It isn't fair to make us suffer, to make us live,
like a bee forbidden to leave its hive.
One day war won't exsist anymore,
And no soldiers will come home torn,
As I stand here and proudly say,
Protect our land of thee free and home of the brave.
