IF ONLY.
1. Getting Ready.
I woke up in bed with the piercing sound from my alarm clock ringing in my ear. I
quickly stretched out my arm and slammed my hand down onto the clock. I sat up
quickly, knowing that today was my special day.
I jumped out of bed and stumbled across the floor and into the bathroom. I peered
into the mirror and took a deep breath, while looking at my hair and face. Man,
I’ve got a lot of work to do… I thought to myself as I picked up my toothbrush
and squeezed toothpaste along the end of the brush. As I scrubbed my teeth, I was
thinking about the day ahead. I smiled once I had finished and admired my teeth
happily. “Now, for my hair.” I sighed, while twirling a loose strand of hair
round my finger. I took the small pink brush that was sitting on the edge of the sink
and start combing it through my hair. After about ten minutes, my hair was
straightened and sitting perfectly. I searched around for my makeup bag and then
found it under a pile of dirty clothes. I couldn’t decide on any colour to choose.
But in the end, I decided to go with gold. I Put on all of my makeup and then walked
proudly back to my bedroom, still in my teddy-bear pyjamas. I opened up my closet and
looked at my clothes sceptically. I pulled out my puffy white shirt and my black
mini-shirt. I put them on quickly and slipped on my black pumps , followed by lots of
my best jewellery.
I grabbed my schoolbag and ran downstairs. “Hey Mom!” I smiled. “Hello Jim.”
I teased at my brother. He crossed his arms and stuck out his tongue at me.
“My name is Jamie!” Jamie replied crossly.
“Whatever.” I replied simply, while grabbing some toast out of the toaster.
“Your eager to get to school today aren’t you?” My mom asked, in a surprised
tone. I shrugged. Then there was a knock at the door.
“Amy’s here! Got to go! Love you mom!” I said quickly, while munching on toast.
I ran to the door and opened it quickly. “Hey Amy! Lets go! Don’t want to be
late.” I reminded her.
“Uh,” Amy replied, forgetting why I was so enthusiastic. I nudged her slightly.
“Oh yeah!” She nodded.
“Lets go!” I said, swinging her round and pulling her down the street.
“Okay!” She said.
I wasn’t going to stop until I had reached my destination, School.
