Close the door
                     Meg Lawson

I lay on the hill
My mind wanders askew
Cuz in this town
There ain’t
Much else to do.

A wind rustles softly
Thru the trees
Nothing makes a sound
 Accept my shivering knees

The wind blows my hair round
But I don’t care
So busy in my thoughts
It’s like I’m not even there.

Out of my element
Out of control
And out on my own with no place to go

Yes, I have a home
A place to eat and sleep
But that don’t matter when everyone is so cheap.

My parents?
Yeah they say they care
But have they ever REALLY been there?

Has daddy ever seen his little girl cry?
But inside she has basically died

Does mom know how her baby gets to sleep?
She cries
Because she feels so weak.

She’ll break any day now
Her heart continues to ache
Her pillow soaked with tears
She starts to sob and shake.

Watching her whole world crash down around her
She had no reason to live
until they found her

She turned to them through the toughest of times
But then something happened
She hadn’t brought to mind

They got sick of her tears
And always solving problems for her

When it became too much they finally told her.

“Just buck up and stop crying was there point of view”
And all she could think was
“oh screw you”.

Later that night
As she lay in her bed
She started to think about what they had said

It started to make sense
As she thought more and more
Why would they say that
If none else just maybe
 because they cared for her.

with no room for her
or her problems anymore
her old friends decided
to open the door
for new friends to come in
and to what they find
there came a very surprising new bind
now if only she would get into mind.

they do not need you anymore
so watch your step
just close the door.

but that wasn't true
no not at all
and even if she did feel small
"it's not the same without you" they all agreed

5 minutes later something strange too occur
"we'll always love you" her old freind said to her
"and no matter how many freinds come and go,you and i will always stay close"
