"Mommy, Peter stole my Barbie!" screamed seven-year-old Savannah Anastasia.
"Peter, please give Savannah her Barbie back," said Rachel Anastasia (a.k.a.
Chaos was part of the daily life in the Anastasia household. With ten kids,
and a third set of multiples due in two months, there were no calm moments.

It had all started ten years ago, when Rachel Wallace was only seventeen. It
was the night of her Senior Prom, and she was in the running for Prom Queen. Everyone
said she was drop-dead gorgeous. With her long, shiny, silky, soft brown hair; her
dazzling, bright blue eyes; her creamy complexion; and her amazing smile, it was
true. She was cheerleading captain, and had almost every guy in school after her:
except for one.
Prom King was already a given. Matthew Anastasia was the captain of the
football team, basketball team, baseball team, and lacrosse team. He was HOTT!!!!!
Rachel secretly liked Matthew, and everyone thought they would look cute
together. Rachel didn't think Matthew liked her though, so she just ignored him.
Matthew also secretly liked Rachel. Since Rachel ignored him, he thought that she
thought she was too good for him, so he ignored her, too.

"This year's Prom King is...Matthew Anastasia!!!"
Everyone clapped and cheered. Not too enthusiastically, though. He had won
Homecoming King also...and everyone loved him.
"And now the moment you've all been waiting for...the Prom Queen is...RACHEL
WALLACE!!!" People weren't too surprised by that either. "As is tradition, the King
and Queen must share a dance."
Matthew awkwardly put his arms around Rachel, and vice versa. They were stiff at
first, but was as if they almost molded into each other. Their bodies fit
together perfectly, like they were made for each other. They danced their slow dance,
and then every dance after that. No one dared to cut in, no one dared to interrupt
them. It was clear that they were in love.

At the After Prom party, Matthew and Rachel never left each other's side. They
sat at a little table in a corner, drinking strawberry smoothies and singing songs
from Annie.
They were inseperable for the next month. They went EVERYWHERE together, hung out
every night, and went on dates twice a week. They dreaded graduation, until they
found out they were going to the same college.
The day before graduation was foggy and rainy. Matthew decided to go visit
Rachel. "Drive careful on those roads, honey," Matthew's mom warned him. "I don't
want you sliding into a bank and stalling your car." Matthew promised he would, said
good-bye to his mom, and called Rachel to tell her he was on his way over, to make
sure she wasn't in the shower or anything.

"Mom, I'm worried about Matthew. He called three hours ago and told me he was on
his way here,"
"I wouldn't worry about it, sweetie. Something might of come up at home. Maybe
one of his neighbor's needed a last minute babysitter or something."
"I bet you're right. Mr. Kinkle has been sick for awhile. Maybe they needed
someone to watch the kids while they took him to the hospital."
"Well, it's getting late, you'd better be getting to bed. You want to be nice
and refreshed for graduation tomorrow."
"Mom!" laughed Rachel, "You treat me like I'm still a little kid! Well, I guess
I am a little tired, nighty-night Mommy! I'm going to call Matthew to see how he's
getting along first, then I'll go to sleep."

"Yes, is Matthew babysitting there tonight?"
"Oh, yes, Johnny is babysitting. Now, my roast is in the oven dearie, goodbye."
Rachel laughed at Mrs. Wilson as she hung up the phone. Mrs. Wilson was old, and
a bit deaf. Oh well, now that she knew Matthew was okay, she might as well get some

Ring, ring. Ring, ring. Ring, ring. Rachel looked over at her alarm clock.
Who could be calling at 2:30 in the morning?
     "Hello?" she answered sleepily.
There was no answer, only a woman sobbing on the other end of the line.
"Mrs. Anastasia, is that you? Did your husband have another heart attack?"
     "Matthew...wreck...trapped...don't know...can't tell...OH!!"
     "Matthew!! Is he okay?"
     "They...don't think so...probably...DEAD!!!!!!!"
"NO!!!" screamed Rachel. Everything was a blur to her. The last time she saw
Matthew, the last thing he said to her, the last place they went together. Now she
may never see him again. Then everything went black.
