My whole family is getting ready for and talking about Christmas. The other day we
went shopping in the city for gifts for everyone.

It wasn't until yesterday that I realized that the Christmas I grew up celebrating,
no longer has any meaning to me. I remember sitting in Sunday school listening to my
teacher talk about how Christmas meant more then just giving, it was a time to
celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ. And how every Christmas morning I would say a
prayer of thanks.

Yesterday, while my family was decorating the tree I realized that really, all the
holiday means to me now is the story of St.Nikolas throwing money down peoples
chimneys. There's no God to say thanks to, and if there is, it's definitely not the
Christian one.

It's sad how many things change with your innocence.
