Today was day 3 in Paris, our last full day.
We started off the day by going to Versailles, the place where Louis the 14th built
up and Louis the 16th (who was married to Marie-Antionette) lived in before the
monacrchy was overthrown. I hoestly thought that I would like it a lot more than I
did, but I still think that it is very impressing.
Then we went back to Notre Dame, but we didn't go in. We really just went to a street
that leads up to Notre Dame to buy souvenirs and to get more good crepes
(mmmmmmmmmmmm). My mom finally spotted the bored gargoyle, the most photographed
gargoyle in the world, and we took lots of pictures of it, but you don't really know
what you're looking at unless you already know what you're looking at.
Then we went to Monmontre, and Painter's square, where artists like Van Gogh and Dali
went and painted before they got all rich and famous. My mom tried to tell me that Da
Vinci went there too, but she was getting him mixed up with Van Gogh (not really sure
why though). I bought a cute little picture that some guy had painted there for
twenty euro, and my mom took his picture so that if he becomes famous one day we can
say that we have an original.
Then we came back to our appartment that we're renting (really early, like half past
seven) and had a dinner of sandwitches and Girros.
It was fun, great day, and I'm going to miss Paris. Tomorrow we fly back home, and
life returns to normal, for a little while at least. Until Christmas, when everything
gets turned upside down and inside-left like always.
