Of course, this way it was different.
This way everything would live, everything would die, everything would love,
everything would cry...
and most importantly, everything would hope.
He found himself wondering what would have happened if he hadn't interfered, if he
hadn't done something...no. He mustn't think of such horrible things. The sun was
better off when he was there to light it, then when he wasn't. This was all for the
better...yes, all of it.
But there was one integral part of it all that scared him...that made him worry...if
this was activated, all his hard work would be lost.
And then, he created the first guardian angel. He named her Neomache, or "New moon"
in ancient greek, which he, admittedly, was not very fluent in. He sent her down, to
guard the humans, to care for those who deserved it, and even those who didn't. To
look out for everyone.
As expected, she also became the first mother to be truly conscious of her child.
From then on she was worshipped as the holy mother, the Mother Goddess incarnate.
They gave her gifts and priviledges never before dreamed of. But Neomache was only
truly aware of one thing from then on; her child.
That was how the guardian angels lost sight of their true purpose-to serve everyone.
Now, angels such as them are hard to come by, and if you ever get one, you will be
truly fortunate for they will always be yours.
He gathered up the remaining glimmers of magic, and strew them across the sky, they
drifted up, and stuck to the darkness. Glimmers of hope for his creations, so they
would never truly be alone.
Oops, I mean, "will".
